Empty your drawers before we arrive
All dresser, desk, and cabinet drawers must be empty before the crew arrives. Loaded drawers make furniture far heavier than it was built to be carried at, which is how frames crack, drawer bottoms fall out, and people get hurt on stairs.
Pack the contents into boxes or bags and label them for the same room. If drawers are still full when we arrive, the crew will wait while you empty them, and that time is billable.
Packing tips
Keep boxes under about 50 pounds. Heavy things like books belong in small boxes; light and bulky things like bedding belong in large ones.
Tape the bottom and top seams, fill empty space so nothing shifts, and write the destination room on the top and one side of every box.
Wrap plates in paper and stand them on edge rather than stacking them flat. Mark fragile boxes clearly and tell the crew which ones they are.
Set aside a bag you keep with you: medication, chargers, keys, documents, a change of clothes, and anything you will need the first night.
What we won't move
We do not move pianos or any single item over 600 lbs.
We also cannot move hazardous materials (fuel, propane tanks, paint, cleaning chemicals, ammunition, aerosols), perishable food, live plants, or pets. Cash, jewelry, medication, firearms, and important documents should travel with you.
